This is a song I wrote for a concept album I planned to release sometime this year but put it on the upcoming EP instead. The song focuses on a character who is starting the recovery process after losing things he owns/people he loves, which also happened to be poisonous to his life. These things/people were the foundation of the life he willingly refused to control and suddenly, it all just fell apart. And now, 3 years later, he finally takes control of his life and gets rid of/makes peace with the things/people that he thought meant everything to him, starting with his love life. He wishes her well but has no direction on what to do next except to be at peace..or at least, content.

I've never had anything like this happen to me but I wondered what it would be like. To be indifferent about, oblivious to, or unhealthily attached to things in my life that I believed defined me. To be that attached to something to where they control your life and not you...I wanted to see what it felt like as well as the aftermath - that is, what could happen when you finally decide to take control and if you could really make peace with yourself.
